Bugs

-fire flies light up in almost every stage of their life cycle, some species even glow in their eggs.
-The bombardier beetle's self-defense tactic is chemical warfare. Chemicals are stored separately in the beetle's abdomen. When combined the resulting mixture is explosive, ejecting from the beetle at high speeds and as hot as 100C.
-The self-defense sting of a bullet ant has been proven to be the most painful sting out of all the invertebrates in the world. Their toxin, neurotoxin, causes slow, but harsh contractions of muscles which lasts 24 hours.
